nice shirt dudeSep 28, 2009
By Danger Cloud There's not really a whole lot you can say about a shirt. I've wanted what I call a "poofy pirate shirt" for just about ever, and I finally got one. Really, I couldn't be happier. The shirt is well made and very comfortable. I got the small/medium in black and the size is just right. I'm a really really skinny guy so it's more roomy than it would be for someone else but it's still a really good fit. I especially like the collar and the ties on the cuffs for fitting. That one feature is infinitely superior to some other shirts I've seen that just have a band of elastic around the cuff. I'm surprised that a lot of this company's products don't have reviews because they really have some nice stuff. Their website has even more than their Amazon store. I recommend this shirt to anyone looking for a good quality costume shirt for Halloween or a renaissance fair or anything else.

Overall nice shirtSep 30, 2010
By James M. Gates This shirt is very comfortable and roomy, just like a poofy pirate shirt should be. When I first received it (and it came in a timely fashion) it had a big stain on the shoulder and it worried me, but it turned out to be a water residue and washed right out.
I really like that this shirt is long enough below the waist that you can actually wear it right, either tucking in without it pulling out when you breathe, or leaving it out with a belt like in the product picture.
A couple things I noticed that I don't like as much: The ties at the cuffs make the cuff very bulky, adding to the bulk of all the fabric from the gathers to make the ruffle, and then the ties hang down and get in the way of everything you try to grab. Now that I have this one I would rather have one with a buttoned cuff. They even have them with the ruffle around the hand and a smooth buttoned cuff. Also, it's hard to make sure the ruffle parts stay uniform, most of the time when you wash it and after it's dried or if you've folded or even hung it up, the ruffles around the collar and cuffs have relaxed into odd patterns that don't like to change.
These things are not enough for me not to say this is a great shirt, it does what it's supposed to do, and it's comfortable, durable fabric.

Pleasantly surprised at quality!Oct 10, 2012
By Chey Cobb I am a woman with a large chest and love voluminous shirts. This certainly fits the bill. Even with a large chest, I could have ordered a "medium" and it would have fit better (it's a man's shirt). I'll probably do a slight alteration myself rather than send it back.
Although it's rayon, it feels like very high quality cotton! It has a good "hand" (meaning how it feels to the hand), good weight, and well constructed. The sleeves have a drawstring rather than elastic, so you can adjust how snug it is against your wrist. However, since it's a drawstring, it's difficult to pull the strings and tie them when you are wearing it. It's better to adjust the tension with the shirt off. Of course that means you'll have black cord hanging from the cuffs, but if you have any sense at all, you'll figure a way to tuck them in. The sleeves are just "full" enough without looking like a costume. Add a funky belt and you're a trendsetter, for sure!
I wish they had these in various colors! I'd definitely buy others!

This shirt met all my expectations, and I'm really glad I purchased it.I go to the Renaissance Faires in three different states, so, it's always good to have more then one shirt to wear. I'm very pleased with the construction and fit of this shirt.
